SYNERGISE
book promotion for publishers

Book Promotion - for Publishers

The previous page explained how we can offer you guaranteed exposure of you low-budget titles. This page explains more fully what is on offer.

A sample of the bookshelf as it appears at the bottom of most of our travel pages can be seen at the bottom of this page. Note the large cover image and the chance for a sales pitch beneath the author's name.

A single payment places a title in our online bookshop for an entire year. As our rate card shows we offer great discount on multiple orders.

General Bookshelf (4 books near bottom of page)

Each bookshelf presents a random display comprising one book from our bestseller list and three books from our client list. The bestseller is to catch the eye, and its proximity to client books means these are seen in a similar context to the bestseller: a great psychological boost - for both purchaser and author.

The position of the bestseller is changed randomly each time a page is displayed.

All present applications are guaranteed that for the duration of their annual display period our list of client books will be restricted to a maximum of 500 titles. As proof of this you are given a Book ID for each book you place on our shelves which will have a number in the range 1-500. If you insert your Book ID into a query string at the end of the URL for any Synergise page displaying the Departure Lounge Bookshop it will ensure the specified title appears in either of the two first slots on the shelf; which position depends on where the bestseller is positioned. Book '2' is presently called 'Hour Game', so if you insert the following at the end of an appropriate URL (including this page), this will force this book to appear in one of the two first slots: '?bid=2'. Try it! Now try a Book ID of 501 (?bid=501). You will see an error message and the request is ignored. This is your proof that we really do restrict our client list to guarantee exposure of the books we promote.

This method of forcing a book display is also useful when dealing with authors, for it enables you to tell them how to check their own book is included in our online bookshop. This is a permanent assurance their book is currently being promoted online and that it is not buried beyond view.

Travel Bookshelf (left-hand column)

Because 'travel' is our speciality, we've lined up a high-profile slot for publishers promoting travel books. Plus the chance of free advertising. Interested? Then click here for further details!

Fixed Page Promotion

If you've found the perfect page to promote your book (example: a book about Pompeii), why not take our Fixed Page Promotion offer and just place your book promotion ad on that page? If you do, this is a 'Fixed Page Promotion'. If you do this in addition to General Bookshelf Promotion across all our travel pages, we offer you great discount on your Fixed Page Promotion (see rate card).

Placing Your Order

The basic price includes one 'BUY' button linking to any sales page you specify. This could be on one of the Amazon websites or a sales page on your own site. For a small additional fee you can specify up to 3 further buttons which are entirely flexible. These can be alternative sales pages, your own website, a review page, the author's website, or whatever you prefer. We have a range of standard buttons from which you can choose, or you can request your own special button (within the specified size constraints). Details of these can be found on the Book Sales Application Form.

Please use our Book Sales Application Form to specify your sales requirements. We need to check the suitability of your title before accepting it in the bookshop. (In a small number of cases we might request a non-returnable copy for assessment.) We will then invoice you and detail the payment options. You can pay securely online by either PayPal money transfer or by any of the following credit/debit cards:

Solution Graphics

If you wish to specify more than one book we suggest you use an email (see 'Normal Email Address' given in the 'Site Information' panel on our Home Page).

If you are located in the U.K. we can also accept a cheque - but your book will take longer to be displayed.

We reserve the right to remove a title from our promotion list if subsequent evidence suggests that, in our opinion, it is no longer a suitable title for promotion; in such an event we would give you a pro-rata refund.

Publishers' Book Promotion Rate Card

Here's where you see just how cost-effective book promotion is via the Synergise Departure Lounge Bookshop.

Please note you cannot have more than 4 buttons for any given book. Every book must have at least one 'BUY' button leading to a web page that sells the book.

Special buttons can be created for your needs but there are severe size constraints. For example, there is not space to put 'Amazon.com' on a button; use a USA flag 'BUY' button to replace this. We recommend you use flag 'BUY' buttons if you want to sell from Amazon sites based in different countries.

We will produce new country flag buttons FREE.
