and corresponding page - divisions used by the QualityHub.
These divisions are more practical than 100% geographically accurate
- merely a way of breaking the world into six sub-regions - or 'Continent
Pages' - plus wider-ranging sites listed on the separate
Cross-Continent page.
Sites that cover more than one country witin a single continent are listed at the beginning of the appropriate Continent page, so click the continent name for these: they're a great place to start if you've never been to that continent before.
What is the Quality Hub?
Synergism, synergy: combined effect that exceeds the sum of individual effects. Synergistic: working together.
As the above dictionary definition indicates, 'synergy' is about making more from less. And the Synergise QualityHub is about making more from the best. We put our name to it right from the start!
Our Travel.QualityHub aims to combine the features of associated travel sites such that the total result exceeds their individual contributions to the net: by working together in harmony. In essence that is also the original aim of the internet as well. The QualityHub is our way of embodying this by bringing together some of the very best destination information on the web in such a way you can be assured of only reaching quality sites that deserve the accolade of world class! Many of the sites on the QualityHub pages are ones that complement our travel articles and they are also mentioned on the relevant pages. Other world-class sites are added whenever they come to our notice. Remember, we are striving to bring together quality not quantity - but the end result should eventually become a definitive index of truly superb travel resources that will give both a physical picture and a true feel for great locations to visit across the world. Imagine the joy of exploring travel sites that are all guaranteed to be of high quality. Now do it: just follow the Index links above! Keep coming back to this page, for we hope to add new sites most weeks. Please be patient if the list grows slowly, for a human-being has to firstly assess all these sites for quality before they can be included - and most sites are rejected!
Synergise Travel Awards have been around since 1998 and are recognized within the travel industry as an independent validation of a web site's quality. We aim to extend these and offer you the very best in a concise and efficient way from our Travel.QualityHub. In terms of Synergise INSITE Travel Awards these will be limited to a selection of suitable sites from those that achieved Silver, Gold or Platinum status. But they must also be sites that contribute towards the overall synergy of the QualityHub.
Why a Hub?
Search engines can provide you with a list of hundreds of travel sites, but that does not mean to say they are good ones. With search engines, you get quantity rather than quality - and you waste considerable time and effort finding this out!
Web Rings provide you with links to partnered sites, but mutual benefit of the web sites is the sole consideration of rings, and neither quality nor clear overall navigation are generally given any priority.
Our hub will only list sites that we have personally assessed for quality. Our assessment is completely independent, and an award cannot be bought. It is a 'hub' because you reach all associated sites from the centre rather than via a miscellaneous ring - eventually via this and associated pages - and our fully-partnered sites refer back to this quality-assured group via this single hub.
