HOW TO GET FREE ADVERTISING!

If you are a travel professional representing a tourism office, tour company or a travel-related website, we invite you to become our 'Strategic Travel Partner' and submit articles for our Travellers' Tales section that reflect your knowledge of destinations anywhere in the world (example article). Tell the reader how interesting the place is to make him/her want to visit — without falling into the trap of building your article around an unacceptable sales pitch. We maintain a high standard with all our articles.

Your article MUST NOT concentrate on the subject matter of your website or be little more than an undisguised advertorial. You get a free text advertisement alongside the article to advertise your website for a prolonged period so don't attempt to use the content of the article for indirect advertising as well or it will NOT be accepted. (We are no longer replying to submissions that do this.) Your article must be capable of standing alone as a travel article. We are looking for genuine information about PLACES: what they are like, their ambience, what to see... but NOT where to stay.

In return for (non-exclusive) electronic publication rights to publish your article(s) indefinitely, we allow you to include either a maximum of 5 in-text links within the body of each article, or to have a separate, top-of-column text advertisement containing up to 5 links. All links within a single article must be to the same domain. For your article to be acceptable it MUST follow our guidelines and provide genuine travel information; articles that merely advertise businesses within the body text on the pretence of providing travel advice are not suitable.

If you are a publisher of a travel magazine or travel guides, by providing two or more travel articles in a suitable format we offer you free advertising on every article - PLUS your own Travel Partner page (example) that lists all your articles. Each article page could potentially advertise a different publication. Subject to previous agreement, we'll even work closely with you to offer you first serial rights on articles we think could be right for you, subject to our writer's agreement.

It may well be that, as a tour operator, you already have suitable material. If so you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Contact us without delay! If you have plans for several destinations and can provide the articles in the near future then let us know of your plans and we can temporarily reserve your destinations to prevent them being taken by another partner.
