Your Tweet Request!
If you would like @authorkingsley to tweet for you then here are your options:
If you would like to see a currency conversion click here and enter the amount in the 'GBP' box.
The time you specify must be UK (London) time. This is UTC (=GMT) (or +1 hour in Summer time). The following Time Zone Map will help you convert if you are not in the UK.
Twitter ENFORCE a tweet can be no longer than 140 characters (including spaces and everything). Since your tweet will need to contain a link, I keep that to a minimum by using a short-form (which converts to the longer real web address of your target/sales page). That requires 22 characters (including a leading colon and space), so you are only left with 118 characters with which to get your message over. Sound a struggle? You get used to it - and writers should be best at honing words!
Here are two suggested templates for that tweet:
You may have to abbreviate the book signing tweet above if you have a long book title!
Carefully check the character count (including spaces) of your tweet before entering it into the request form. If you are signed up for tweet, you can compose your draft tweet in the Twitter tweet panel and see its count. If you compose a tweet in Microsoft Word, enable the 'Word Count' toolbar feature, highlight your tweet phrase, then click 'Recount'; select the dropdown list to see the character count 'with spaces'.
In case you don't know about 'hashtags', be aware the '#book' hashtag included within your tweet means anyone searching for books using a hashtag starting with '#book' will see your tweet listed - even if they don't follow me. So 5 characters to include '#book' is worth it.
Although it is technically possible to link in a cover image to a tweet, this would take an additional 27 characters (in a reasonably-spaced format). Since this would reduce your meaningful text to 91 characters and increase my workload due to obtaining the graphic and uploading it to be referenced - thereby also increasing the cost - this is not particularly cost-effective. I have therefore excluded this option, so please don't ask.
If you apply you accept the following restrictions. I will NOT link to a book which I think may:
I will let you know if I am unable to tweet for you but will not usually give any reason other that to say it is unsuitable.
If I am able to tweet for you I will get back to you to confirm intended date/time(s).
Once you have filled out your form, please allow 7-12 working days for a reply (so bear this in mind with your dates). I hope to be much quicker than this but I might be away.
I will email you to inform you if I can accept your tweet. If I can I will give you a link to pay your payment by credit/debit card or PayPal (via the PayPal service, which does not disclose any card details). Once a payment has been received your tweet will be scheduled without further notification. PayPal will give you a receipt.
