Brief Biography

Janet has loved to travel anywhere as far back as she can remember, inspired by childhood visits to France. She has worked for many years in education and information technology, where her writing has been mostly research reports and policy documents. Consultancy work on international projects has taken her to Belgium, Germany, Bulgaria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Botswana and Kyrgyzstan. She has recently decided to spend more time developing a writing career.

Her home is Glasgow in Scotland, and now that her children have grown she can indulge her itchy feet more often. She’s particularly interested in the countries and the history of wider Europe, and speaks French and German reasonably well. When travelling she likes to meet new people and hear their stories, and to explore their way of life, their culture, their history and, naturally, their food.
